Welcome to Granite Mountain Upper Elementary School

Welcome back, Grizzlies!

We are excited to begin another school year at Granite Mountain Upper Elementary School. Our staff has been busy preparing for an amazing year, and we can't wait to welcome students back to campus. We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with you and be part of this important time in your child's life.

This year, we are proud to embrace our new mission and vision:

These three simple statements reflect who we are and what we strive for every day. They align beautifully with Prescott Unified School District's commitment to Every Student, Every Day and remind us that every student deserves to feel connected, supported, challenged, and valued.

The upper elementary years are a unique stage of growth and development. Students are learning more about themselves, gaining independence, building friendships, and discovering new strengths and interests. It can be an exciting time, but it can also come with challenges as students navigate change and increased responsibility. At GMUES, we recognize how important these years are, and we are intentional about the way we guide, support, and encourage our students during the two years they are with us.

We want every student to know they belong here. We want every student to experience growth, whether it be academically, socially or emotionally. We want every student to leave GMUES with the confidence and skills to succeed in middle school and beyond.

Through our two-teacher teaming model, daily intervention and enrichment opportunities, and a wide variety of academic, artistic, athletic, and extracurricular experiences, we are able to meet students where they are and help them reach their full potential. Just as importantly, we are committed to building strong relationships and fostering the character traits that help students become thoughtful, resilient, and responsible members of our community.
